As you get ready to close escrow on the purchase of your home, understand that you will be required to bring in funds to close escrow in addition to your down payment amount.
These "closing costs" can consist of:
Lender fees and charges Prepaid interest Escrow fees and charges Appraisal fee Title company fees and charges Attorney fees Property taxes, your portion Notary fees, messenger fees, recording fees, etc. Transfer taxes or fees Homeowner's insurance Survey fee
This may not be a complete list. You should request and receive a detailed estimate of your closing costs from all parties involved in the transaction - the lender, escrow company, attorney, title company, etc. - BEFORE closing so that you can review and understand the closing costs you are paying.
